Ash Announce Australian Tour Celebrating 30 Years of 1977

Northern Irish power-pop trio Ash will return to Australia this September to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their debut album 1977, performing the record in full.

Northern Irish power-pop trio Ash will return to Australia this September to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their debut album 1977, performing the record in full.

Released in 1996 while the band members were still teenagers, 1977 became a defining release of the Britpop era, blending punk energy, power-pop hooks and grunge influence into a string of UK hits including “Girl From Mars”, “Goldfinger”, “Kung Fu” and “Oh Yeah”.

The album has sold more than two million copies worldwide and remains closely tied to the band’s early identity, capturing the chaos and idealism of late-90s youth culture.

The Australian run will hit six cities across September, including two Western Australian dates in Perth and Fremantle.
