M. Ward & The Undertakers return to Australia

AFTER A SUCCESSFUL SUMMER RUN CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF TRANSFIGURATION OF VINCENT, M. WARD & THE UNDERTAKERS ARE BACK THIS NOVEMBER WITH NEW MUSIC

M. Ward & The Undertakers return to Australia this November, bookending the 20th anniversary of the critically acclaimed album Transfiguration of Vincent with another tour of the country, this time taking their music to all the places that missed out back in February.

Fans can experience on this tour classic M. Ward tunes from one of the greatest blues-inspired Americana albums ever created as well as new music from his latest album Supernatural Thing (Anti Records, 2023) which features a number of excellent collaborations with First Aid Kit, Neko Case, and Shovels & Rope.

Joining the band for the ride is the much-celebrated Folk Bitch Trio who bonded with M. Ward earlier this year, creating a match made in musical heaven.

BT from Love Police said: “If anyone saw those shows earlier this year you will know we couldn’t stop this party. Matt allowed us to put together a local band for him, they were amazing, they bonded, they rocked, they rolled, they are even touring Europe together later this year. Folk Bitch Trio also played some shows, and the combo all just worked so they’re comin’ too. WA, South Oz and Tassie are gonna get the vibes, as well as hitting Sydney and Melbourne for some encore performances. Good fucking times.

Hailing from Portland, Oregon, prolific singer-songwriter and guitarist M. Ward is known to many, whether this is through his mesmerising folky/bluesy Transfiguration of Vincent released back in 2003 or his collaboration with Zooey Deschanel in She and Him, or perhaps as a member of indie supergroup Monsters of Folk.

M. WARD & THE UNDERTAKERS with FOLK BITCH TRIO play Hobart, Sydney, Fremantle, Perth, Archies Creek and Melbourne this November and December. Tickets on sale 9am AEST, Wednesday August 9 at lovepolice.com.au
