Sunk Loto share new single "Dead Shadows" and first band video since 2003
Gold Coast alt‑metal stalwarts return with a sweltering new track produced with Forrester Savell and the band's first music video featuring members in over two decades.
Australian alternative‑metal veterans Sunk Loto have issued a new single, Dead Shadows, and premiered the first music video to feature the band since 2003.
Dead Shadows, their first new material following 2024's God Complex, was co‑produced by Sunk Loto and Forrester Savell, with engineering by Luke Palmer.
The song arrives after the group reconvened in early 2024 and developed four new tracks. The current lineup pairs founders Jason Brown (vocals, guitar), Dane Brown (drums) and Sean Van Gennip (bass) with lead guitarist Rohan Stevenson.
Sunk Loto will test the new material live this August with three intimate, entirely sold‑out shows across Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, their first performances since 2023.
“Following the Between Birth and Death 20 year anniversary tour in late 2023, we got back together early in 2024 with a handful of ideas that quickly turned into four new tracks, including Dead Shadows," the band shares. "We headed into the studio with Forrester Savell to bring them to life soon after."
“Dead Shadows felt like the right first single after a few years away, it sits right in that space between where we’ve come from and where we’re heading, and it really lets Jas’ vocals shine."
"We’re looking forward to sharing some new music after 30 years as a band."
