The hu & The Blackwater fever at the roundhouse

We’ve all at least heard of them and for bloody good reason The Hu are a force everyone should experience at least once.

Arriving early to a sold out Roundhouse. A huge line snaked its way around the UNSW campus with a crowd so diverse you’d have no idea who was even playing. I love sitting back and watching these shows you get such a range of punter there’s always an energy you don’t get to experience often.

After a few alcoholic ginger beers later Brisbane’s The Blackwater Fever hit the stage. Now i had never heard of these guys before hand but quickly jumped onto to be ordering some vinyl straight after their set. Chasing two decades on i’m annoyed i had not heard them sooner.

The Roundhouse is a massive venue i don’t recall ever seeing this packed. Every single person on that floor and up in the balcony was ready and they let it be known the second all eight members hit the stage diving straight into the anthems like ‘Shoog Shoog’ & the 2019 opening track ‘The Gereg’.

It’s hard no to bang your head, dance and just groove out when these guys bring their unique take of metal to the stage. As i said in at the start everyone should add it to your bucket list to see these guys.

A huge thank you to Live Nation & Chris Maric for the opportunity.
