Good Things 2023 predictions
As anticipation rises here’s our predictions
It sounds like the lineup for Good Things festival 2023 isn’t far away. And while we don’t have any inside scoops on who’s going to be on this years lineup. We thought it would be fun to throw a few predictions out there. Maybe some of its wishful positivity but some we’ve got a good feeling about a few. After the huge success that 2022 was we have no doubt this year will be swinging for the fence. Check the recap from last year!
First off Behemoth! If you’re like most of us. We’re all pretty big fans. Recently Nergal left a comment on one of his instagram posts that he “Couldn’t wait to tour there again later this year”. Along side a big gap in their tour schedule. Australia late in the year would slot in nicely.

Can you believe it's been about a year since they dropped the incredible single "Miracle"? Now, imagine A Day to Remember in the headline slot! It’s seem’s like a no brainer. It's been quite a while since the boys graced us with their presence, and with no listed tour dates and recent performances everywhere else I reckon this would be a good bet.
Trophy Eyes. If you’ve been living under a rock the boys from Newcastle just dropped what will definitely be one of everyones top records this year. If you’ve still not heard it. Stop what you’re doing, hit play on “Suicide and Sunshine’ and come right back. With no scheduled tour dates in December I could see them high up on the bill as the suns going down on another Australian summer evening.
Speed. After their immensely successful headline tours, setting the stage ablaze while opening for Turnstile, and leaving audiences in awe across the US and Europe. With an unrivaled ability to handle massive stages and crowds. Speed is the ultimate draw for any festival. I think it’s time they crushed the same big stages on home soil as well. Check their latest tour doc shot by the legend Jack Rudder
AFI. Insert wishful thinking from all of us at Outsiders Journal.
In wishful thinking about the possibility of AFI gracing us with their presence once more. After their 20-year anniversary show for "Sing the Sorrow" in March, we can't help but dream of them making the trek down here for an exclusive festival, treating us to a nostalgic and unforgettable "Sing the Sorrow" setlist. They currently have no dates locked in for December.
Just the thought of it brings smiles to our faces, and we know we're not alone in those feelings. So let's keep our fingers crossed on this one.
Look this one might be a stretch but here’s to wishing things into existence right.
Sylosis have been kicking around for a long time now and in my opinion have been the most consistent band in modern metal for the past decade. With a steady release of incredible records including 2011’s “Edge of the Earth” & soon to be released new record “A Sign Of Things To Come” on September 8th. I think they’d be the perfect mid afternoon band to have cicle pits ablaze.
Terminal Sleep. Currently crushing everywhere they’re going and slowly building a name as one of Australia’s must see hardcore bands. There is a reason they’ve got some hype behind them. Made more evident with them now being added to this years Yours & Owls Festival as well as recently crushing Back on the Map Vol 2. They’d be the perfect fit.
Keeping the female fronted hardcore bands going on this list is Melbourne’s Outright. You can’t have powerhouse singers with Jelena’s name in the hat. Made even more evident as she is a finalist in the AWMA. Another band at the top of their game in Australia makes sense.
Alright pit lords it’s your time. Slaughter to Prevail. You may have seen the masks, the meme’s or just follow Alex Terrible’s instagram to hear his obnoxious voice. STP are well overdue to crush stages in Australia. Combine a bunch of side shows with the festival stops Alex & Co would dominate.
Another one for the headliner spot. Nu metal overlords Korn are well overdue for a tour. Having released “Requiem” last year & no dates booked for the end of the year they would be another huge pull. I’ve been lucky enough to see Korn for years and in a few iterations. Including 2004 with Static X, Fear Factory & Sunk Loto at what is now Qudos Bank Arena & 2014 along side Rob Zombie at The Big Top. A top spot at Good Things would make it a trilogy of epic shows.
Paramore. Hear me out… They’re already announced Australian tour finishes on the 28th of November with Good Things kickings off that week? A delay in the lineup being released allowing for those shows to sell before hand? I should of been a detective right!
Let us know in the comments who you think is coming & who you’d love to see on the lineup!
